Aadhaar Card update: No need any documents to change these details

Aadhaar card officials (UIDAI) announced that since now any aadhaar holders do not need to submit any documents for updating details of email address, mobile number, photograph, biometrics, and gender.


The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), that issues 12-digit unique aadhaar number , has come up with this update for the comfortability of the Aadhaar Card holders. Since now, if want any update in your aadhaar card all you need to do is to take your Aadhaar Card's genuine copy with you and visit any nearby Aadhaar Centre.

Aadhaar card is issued after getting demographic, biometric information of the person by UIDAI. The demographic information consists of Name, Age (declared) or Date of Birth (verified), Address, Gender, Mobile Number (optional) and Email Address (optional). In case of introducer-based enrollment, introducer name and introducer’s aadhaar number are necessary to provide the officer. If it's a case of a head of family-based enrollment, then name of the family head, relationship and aadhaar number are required. In case of child enrollment, then enrollment ID or aadhaar number of mother or father, proof of relationship (PoR) document such as Ration card or school identity card. Biometric information includes ten hand fingerprints and two Iris.

Now you can apply for any demographic updates in your Aadhaar Card easily such as Name, Address, Mobile Number, Date Of Birth, Gender and biometric updates (Photo, Fingerprints and Iris). UIDAI has also launched online appointment facility at UIDAI-run exclusive Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

Aadhaar Card Update Appointment

First of all you need to visit UIDAI’s ‘Book an Appointment’ page
Now move on to ‘Book an Appointment at UIDAI-run Aadhaar Seva Kendra’ section. You have to select a city or location nearby you. After selecting the location you have to tap on ‘proceed to book an appointment’. You'll be redirected to a fresh page. Now you have to select any one of three categories- ‘New Aadhaar’, ‘Aadhaar Update’, and ‘Manage Appointments’. After selecting relevant category, type in your mobile number and given captcha code. Then click on Generate OTP. Once you receive an OTP on your phone, enter it and verify yourself. Subsequently, a separate page (form) will open asking you appointment details, personal details, time slot details etc.

You can also book an Aadhaar related Appointment at Registrar run Aadhaar Seva Kendra. For the same, you have to select the appropriate option at UIDAI’s ‘Book an Appointment’ page. A separate page will be appeared where you have to enter your mobile number, enter the captcha and click on ‘send OTP’. After receiving OTP enter it to verify. Now, you have to select any one of New Enrollment or Update Aadhaar. Then, type in the details like name as per Aadhaar, 12-digit unique Aadhaar number, choose from the options that you want to be updated. After you did all this properly, you have to click on ‘proceed to check’.
